Jupiter 2011
2011 Is the best possible year for European Observers (mostly for the Southern countrys), Jupiter is at almost 60 degrees of altitude and the seeing most of the days is average to good, and some times it is almost perfect.
Having only an 8" Newtonian to work with, I am really proud to be an owner of an "Orion UK" λ/12 mirror telescope, and not a massive production one. This telescope has given me many pleasures in the past and it keeps surprising me any time the seeing goes above average.
All images are made with my 8" f/1200mm Newtonian, a 5x Barlow, a DMK 21au04as opperated on WinXP with IC-Capture and from 13 September 2011 I also use an Atik 5 Motorized Filter weel with Baader LRGB filters. Also in the past, other filters were used to image Jupiter, like : W# 23a - 25 - 58 - 80 and Photometric V and Rc filters.
On my first night with the new Filter Weel, waiting for Jupiter to apear behind some buildings.
